An grossly unscientific population comparison – Bria, StarSider, Shadowfire

So tonight I logged in to my main character on Bria and my guild had about 5 people on.  That’s a tad low for my guild.  A /guildshow had a decent amount of folks that have been on in the last 24 hours, but a whole lot more who haven’t been on in about a week.  So that, plus an email from another guild member to quit and move to StarSider got me wondering of Bria was really starting to get quiet or of it was just my guild.  Time for a little test.

My original character was a Jedi on Lowca who did a (paid… grrrr) CTS to StarSider about a year ago.  I also had an entertainer (Vez up in the banner) that was on Valcyn and now is on Shadowfire via the free CTS.  So I chose a common spot – the chairs in the Eisley starport looking out onto the starport “parking lot” where the needy, greedy, and the vain, hang out.  I logged into characters on all three servers and put them at that spot and took a screen shot of my radar to see how many players were milling about.  The results are interesting, but not altogether surprising.

My main hangout, Bria, wasn’t too shabby, maybe somewhere in the 40’s.  This was a Tuesday night so not necessarily the most hopping of days, but it is Summer so the kids should be on.

StarSider, even looking to have gone down for some reason (since it was “Loading” when I tried to log in about an hour prior to this) still seemed to have bounced back without a hitch.  Maybe the upper 60s here?

Shadowfire… well I don’t need to estimate the number of blue dots on this one, considering I’m the one in the middle, that’s like four other folks.  Yikes.

Moving to SS wouldn’t be an easy thing, I’d have to make some tough choices about whether to move my fully decked out character on Bria and lose my original character (likely), then kill off my entertainer and make a pull over my Structures trader (yeah, probably), and then pay $100 to make all that happen.  Ugh.

What is the population like on your server?

Well my main original server was Chilastra. I still have a toon there, and its pretty jumping place. But before they put in the 2 char slots per server, I got bored and wanted to try something else. So I rolled up a toon on Wanderhome and started to play there more and more. Since coming back about 3 months ago to the game.. I can say Wanderhome is even deader than Shadowfire :) It’s very rare to run across someone else there. I’ve got free moves for my toons, just milking the peace and quiet and time to do collections with no hassles while I can. Good thing I did… got both rare jedi/sith waistpack items for my Jedi.
